Our Story
At the start of 2021, I like so many jumped on the 'lose weight' new years resolution train. After some success, I altered my diet to include eating more fruit & vegetables - and specifically started eating eggs for breakfast.
In 2020, I'd moved to the M acedon Ranges and had noticed several roadside farmgate produce stalls, where I started to source my new diet's food from... until I got caught out!
I'd stopped at my favourite egg stall, but didn't have any cash! Frustrated by this, I started working on Pay By QR to design a solution to my experience, specifically keeping in mind that anything I build had to be:
- Dead simple for customers to use. No app to download, no registration to fill out. Just let me pay a farmer for their goods.
- Utilize QR codes, now that - thanks to COVID-19 - we are all familiar with them. No typing out a website URL.
- Make sure the service is affordable; as the grandson of a fruit & veg farmer, I get the commercial and economical realities of primary producers.
I'm super excited to share Pay By QR with farmers! I hope it really does make farm gates purchases better for customers and increases the volume of paddock-to-plate goods sold.
